Posted by
retert,
On my previous blog post on i had told you'll how to get Google Pixel Contact and Dialer for your android device marshmallow. But now its the full package ,So today i am going to be telling you'll how to get a full Google Pixel Experience on your non pixel devices. So lets get started
FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND BEFORE STARTING
1. The Pixel Launcher will work on any device running Android 6 or later
2. Google dialer works fine on most models, but can have bugs!!! It should work on Android 6 or later
3. The Google Assistant will only work on Android 7 or later. If you flash this ZIP on Android 6, the installer will install the new Google Search app, but the Google Assistant wont work.
4. To get the Google Assistant working you have to flash the "GoogleAssistantBuildProp.zip" after and copy tweaks.prop to your device.
FEATURES
- Google Pixel Launcher (with working WallpaperPicker)
- Google Pixel Dialer
- Google Pixel Assistant
- Google Pixel Bootanimation (1920x1080)
- Google Pixel Ringtones
DISCLAIMER
I am not responsible if your phone becomes a solid brick after flashing the zips. Always be sure to make a nano backup of you current rom before flashing any zips through TWRP recovery or any custom recovery you have installed on your device
INSTRUCTIONS
Download the zip and flash it via custom recovery like TWRP or CWM | DOWNLOAD ZIP | MIRROR
(This will install Launcher, Dialer, Google Velvet (not Assistant) & Ringtones)
GOOGLE ASSISTANCE
To get Google Assistance running you have to first flash the GooglePixelExperience-flashable.zip zip and then follow the below instructions
REQUIREMENTS
- Android 7.0 or higher may work on marshmallow
- SuperSU or kernel with dm-verity disabled
- Latest Google app (6.5.35.21 or newer)
- build.prop tweaks
INSTRUCTIONS FOR GOOGLE ASSISTANCE
METHOD 1: Add these lines on your build.prop without quotes
ro.product.model=Pixel XL ro.opa.eligible_device=true
METHOD 2: Flash the zip through custom recovery like TWRP or CWM | DOWNLOAD ZIP
FAQ
What languages are supported by Google Assistant?
Only English and German for now.
I'm still having Google Now, what can I do?
Go to the Google app info and wipe its data.
Now my phone model is Pixel or Pixel XL, is this a problem?
Maybe. Some manufacturers uses the build.prop data to offer their apps and updates on Google Play, so you can have problems updating those apps. Nexus owners won't have any problem.
My camera is crashing!
Restore your build.prop and use the new method.

How to install Google Assistant for devices running Android Marshmallow
Posted by
retert,
The new much awaited Google assistant will be pixel specific only. But developers have already managed to get assistant on any nougat phone by editing the build.prop. But users have reported that camera and some other apps aren't working properly.
A xda developer named ~ ANIKETultimate ~ has figured out a way to use Google Assistant on any device running Android Marshmallow. The best part is that you wont require any root permissions or build.prop edits, So lets get started
Disclaimer : Me or the ANIKETultimate is not responsible if any shit happens to you android device. Take your own responsibility so this one.But will be happy to help if any bullshit occurs to your device
WHAT WORKS
- Voice recognition
- Chats
- Navigation etc.
WHAT DOES NOT WORK FOR NOW
- The assistant settings page is not opening
- The "OK Google" hotword detection is not working. The App crashes if I open the "hotword detection" page in settings
REQUIREMENTS
- apktool (make sure you have set it up properly)
- A smali editor ( Notepad++ for Windows, I used kate on Linux)
- patience
- Android build tools (adb and zipalign)
1. First we need the Google apk. Make sure you have upgraded to the latest ( mine was 6.6.14.21). Copy the file to your PC. Name it Google.apk
2. Open up a terminal in Linux (in Windows, navigate to the folder where apktool is located, and shift+right click on a blank space and click "open command prompt here"). If you're on Linux, make sure apktool is in your PATH.
Type
Code:
apktool d Google.apk
3. Open Google/smali/com/google/android/apps/gsa/assistant/a/e.smali file with your preferred editor.
4. Look for a method called pa() like this-
Code:
.method public static pa()Z .locals 3 .prologue const/4 v0, 0x0 .line 98 invoke-static {}, Lcom/google/android/libraries/e/a/a;->aN()Z move-result v1 .line 2191 ............
Code:
const/4 v0, 0x0
Code:
const/4 v0, 0x1
If you can't find them in the path I provided, then look for something like this "ro.opa.eligible_device" inside an "if-neq" or "if-eqz". If you find this, then that is probably the required method.
5. Return to the root directory (where the Google directory is located) and type
Code:
apktool b Google
7. Open the original apk with a zip viewer (winrar or 7zip, I used ark). Extract the META-INF folder to the directory.
8. Open the modified apk with the zip viewer . Don't extract it. Just drag and drop the META-INF folder on the apk. Make sure you have the compression option as "store"
9. Now install this app. Some people reported that it does not install from the device. I never tried to install it from my phone. I actually installed it via adb and it worked. type-
Code:
adb install -r Google.apk
SCREENSHOTS
DON'T WANT TO GO THROUGH ALL THE HASSLE OF UNZIPPING AND OTHER CRAP HERE IS THE APK WHICH IS MODDED BY THE ANIKETultimate HIMSELF : LINK
NOTE : if the above apk does not install, could you try running 'pm install -r Google.apk' from a terminal on your phone, and send me the output?

retert,
Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Pikachu, and many other Pokémon have been discovered on planet Earth!
Now’s your chance to discover and capture the Pokémon all around you—so get your shoes on, step outside, and explore the world. You’ll join one of three teams and battle for the prestige and ownership of Gyms with your Pokémon at your side.

Certain Pokémon appear near their native environment—look for Water-type Pokémon by lakes and oceans. Visit PokéStops, found at interesting places like museums, art installations, historical markers, and monuments, to stock up on Poké Balls and helpful items.
Catching, hatching, evolving, and more
As you level up, you’ll be able to catch more-powerful Pokémon to complete your Pokédex. You can add to your collection by hatching Pokémon Eggs based on the distances you walk. Help your Pokémon evolve by catching many of the same kind.

Android Sources Highly Compressed & Developer Exchange
Posted by
retert,
Android Developers, have many problems. One such of them is "SLOW INTERNET" or even "LOW BANDWIDTH".
Due to these problems, we are unable to sync the BIG chunk of Android source codes from the respective repositories.
Hence, most of the new and learning developers just fail at the first step: Downloading The Source Code!
So, here I present you with a thread, which contains links to download "HIGHLY COMPRESSED", untouched (unmodified) and full Android source codes of many different ROMs!
The links to the highly compressed source codes
What is Repo?
Repo is a repository management tool built on top of Git.
It’s first purpose is to downloads files from multiple git repositories into your local working directory (aka the source tree). That means that you won’t have to manually download or fetch the latest changes from about 300+ projects (depending on if you are downloading AOSP, CM or AOKP for example), repo will do it for you.
The second purpose of repo is to made it easy to submit your code contributions for review to a Gerrit server.
When you download a source code with repo, you get a folder named .repo in your working directory. It contains all the compressed and encrypted files that need to be in the source code.
After the source has been downloaded, the repo tool unencrypts and decompresses the files from the ".repo" folder and you get the source code in the working directory itself
What happens with the ".repo" folder?
It stays there, eating up the extra worthy space. A repo folder of cm12, when highly compressed is 10Gigs. An uncompressed one may be around 15Gigs.
What is the use of that folder?
If you want to UPDATE the sources, I mean update the current version of the source code, the repo folder comes handy. If you don't have the ".repo" folder, you may not be able to update the sources further. Like, if you want to get the latest patches, fixes, bug fixes, etc. you need to run:
Code: repo sync
later on. But not having the .repo folder will disable you to do that.
Even if you do not have the .repo folder, you will be able to compile the ROM with no problem! Do not worry if you are not able to download that. It is just needed to get fixes later on.
Note: You cannot go from cm12 source to cm12.1 or going cm12 to cm13 as these are different branches on the Cyanogenmod repo. No way doing that. You will have to manually download the new source.
