What is the build.prop file?

ADB and Fastboot are arguably two of the most indispensable tools used when working with Android devices. If you really want to modify, debug, and tweak along with their countless uses in rooting, and other procedures ADB and Fastboot are a must for any Android device owner. Typically if you want to install ADB and Fastboot you have to download and setup the Android SDK (If you really want to learn about Android Development I highly recommend downloading and installing the full Android SDK from here), but this can be unnecessary for people who just want to install ADB and Fastboot. To simply the process I created a windows installer that will install the latest version of ADB and Fastboot for you quickly and easily. The total installation of Minimal ADB and Fastboot is around 2 MB in size (Compared to the 90+ MB size of the Android SDK Tools, and 425+ MB size of the complete Android SDK) making it very lightweight.

PREREQUISITES
1. Your device is plugged into your computer
2. You have USB Debugging enabled under Developer Options (Note: This may be listed as ADB Debugging on some ROM's)
3. You have installed the necessary drivers and your computer is recognizing your device

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Download the Minimal ADB and Fastboot setup.exe from here
2. Follow the Installers instructions and select where you would like to install Minimal ADB and Fastboot too (For simplicity I choose to install it to the Desktop)

The Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 4 is a video enhancement program for Sony phones. It uses filters and algorithms to create a clearer and more contrasted picture and an overall smoother experience. (Note that if you are running a custom kernel, it is likely that it already implements this functionality)

If you are running a stock (made by the phone manufacturer) kernel on your device, chances are adbd is running in "secure" mode, even if you are rooted. This app lets you run adbd in "insecure" mode, which gives you root access in "adb shell", allows access to system files and directories through "adb push/pull", and lets you run the "adb remount" command to make your /system partition writable.

Of course, your device must already be rooted for this to work. It may not work with "S-ON" devices and locked bootloaders.

This app does not make any permanent changes to your device - a reboot will undo any modification. That's why there is also the option to enable this feature at boot.
Note that if you have USB connected when the app activates or deactivates adbd root mode, you may need to unplug/replug the cable or run "adb kill-server" on your computer before adb will work again.

After a few delays, it looks like Google's much-hyped Project Ara modular smartphone is almost ready to ship. The device will be out for developers to try sometime this fall, while consumers will be able to get their hands on it at some point next year.

To celebrate the news, the search giant has created a new promo video for Project Ara. It obviously plays on the Ara's modular strengths, though it looks like some of those small modules are actually going to be pretty easy to lose.




According to a report, around 30 people inside Google are already using Ara prototypes as their primary phones. The company says it now has "all the key components of the platform". The developer edition will come with a 5.3-inch screen and will run Android, as you'd expect from a Google-made handset.

Partners that are already working on modules for Ara include Panasonic, TDK, iHealth, E Ink, Toshiba, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, and Samsung. There will be six swappable modules on the back, all using the same connector so anything goes anywhere. Ejecting modules is fully controlled by software, meaning you can even say something like "OK Google, eject the camera" and that's what will happen.

One thing to note, however, is that the "phone technology" isn't part of any module, instead having been integrated into the frame. This means you probably won't be able to swap out the chipset, battery, or display, at least not with the first-gen Ara.

The BlackBerry 'Hamburg' has now been spotted on GFXBench, revealing some of its key specifications.
As per the listing, the device is powered by Snapdragon 615, and sports a 5.2-inch full HD display. It comes with 3GB RAM and 16GB internal memory, and features a 12MP rear camera and 8MP front shooter.

The handset carries a model number of STH100-x, and runs Android 6.0.1 out of the box. There is currently no information on exactly when the device will be launched as well as the price tag it'll carry.
