Oppo Mobile has listed the new budget smartphone Joy 3 on its official website. The Joy 3 surprisingly leapfrogs the numeral 2 and succeed the Joy Plus smartphone announced earlier this year.

Oppo’s new Joy 3 has been constructed using a metallic like frame running around the sides. Sporting a 4.5” IPS TFT display, the Joy 3 packs 854x480 pixel resolution. Oppo has powered it with a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 mobile chipset sporting Mali-400MP2 graphics chip, teamed with 1GB of RAM. Joy 3 boots the ColorOS 2.0 based on Android 4.4 KitKat

With mere 4GB on-board support storing the images and videos captured using the 5MP snapper may not be an easy task, but thankfully there is a memory card slot. Oppo offers a bunch of options such as HDR, Panorama, Beautify, and other modes. The camera can also record HD videos.

Along with that, the camera comes with a capability to snap several photos in burst-mode to make a gif file out of it. The audio photo feature basically mashes up images, sound and animation into a ten-second clip.

On the front there is a 2MP camera for wide angle selfies.

Joy 3 can house two Micro-SIM cards in dual-SIM configuration with only one SIM having 3G capabilities at a time. Other features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and USB OTG. The Oppo Joy 3 packs a 2000mAh Li-Po battery.

The Oppo Joy 3 pricing is yet to be confirmed.
